Around 150 children, staff who stay for decades, and values that show up in the small moments.

Community

A Small School That Works Like a Village

Greenwood Learning is deliberately small, with around 150 children across all stages. Everyone knows everyone. Older children mentor younger ones, staff teach across year groups, and parents are part of the daily rhythm, not just the newsletter list.

Our values aren't printed on a poster and forgotten. They show up in who tends the chickens this week, how disagreements are handled, and how new families are welcomed into the rota.

What We Stand For

Four Values, In Practice

01

Curiosity First

Questions are valued more than quick answers. We'd rather a child ask 'why' five times than memorise one fact.

02

Everyone Belongs

Small classes and mixed-age activities mean every child is known, named, and missed when they're away.

03

Outdoors, Always

Rain or shine, the land is part of the timetable, not a treat for good weather.

04

Honest Feedback

We tell families the truth, kindly, about what's going well and what needs support.

Our People

Staff Who Stay and Teach Across Stages

Many of our teachers have been here for over a decade. Several teach across two stages, which means the curriculum genuinely connects rather than just sitting in adjoining folders.

Our outdoor educators, growers, and pastoral team work across the whole school, so a child's relationship with the land, and with the adults who tend it, grows continuously.

Meet Our Director

“You can tell a school's values by what happens to the garden when no one important is watching.”
