Every spring, the whole school turns out to celebrate the first harvest, most of it grown, picked, and cooked by the kids themselves. This year the radishes came in about three weeks early, which threw our whole menu plan sideways in the best way.
Our Canopy-stage kids led garden trail tours (a few of them clearly rehearsed their facts, and a few clearly did not), we shared a meal built entirely around whatever had come out of the beds that week, and staff and families played music late into the afternoon.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a good one. We're already fighting over who gets to run the radish stand next year.
